Like most other reviewers, I commend this handy puck/rinse/brush holder. I like it! As an artist who paints with watercolors and acrylics (mostly acrylics at the moment) and who paints an average of 3-4 days a week, even though I've only had it a few weeks, I certainly give this product 2 thumbs up. high. That's why. My husband and I are living in a transitional apartment until the end of this spring, when we plan to move into a house where I will (again) have a separate room that I will use as an art studio. Currently I have to clean the kitchen table, put an old towel on it and tidy up my painting supplies - paints - and then put it all back together to pack it up for the next painting session. In my 60s, when I'm somewhat limited in my physical mobility and have the time to stand and move without discomfort, I wanted/needed to find a better solution than standing at the kitchen sink and washing my brushes after painting - a I am very meticulous because my brushes are an investment so I wash them thoroughly and treat the bristles after each use. This practical tub has 2 separate water tanks. I put the brush cleaner on its side with the altered horizontal stripes on the bottom (for sweeping the brushes to remove paint between the bristles) and in another clear water to "wind up". I still use a small jar of water to mix my paints, but being able to "wash my brushes while I paint" without having to get up and go to the sink to clean them has proved very handy. To be honest I don't know why I waited so long to get something that turned out to be so helpful and very affordable. It's not a large cleaning tub/brush holder, but it's certainly enough. In any case, something bigger takes up too much space in the workplace. While it's true that the tanks don't hold much water and you can't fill them to the top of the tub (the lip doesn't reach the top of the tub), I can paint for 3 hours or more. in one session with several light and dark colors without changing the water. The cover of the tanks does not "snap" but is held securely at the top. My kitty loves watching me draw. If I have to get up from the table while painting, the blanket prevents her from tasting the water, which she usually tries to do. So I love this feature. Turned upside down, the lid serves as a pallet. I've read some complaints that the blue color makes it difficult to use the lid as a palette when mixing blues etc. I solved this problem by using pallet paper. To save money I buy a larger tray and cut the sheets into smaller squares to use. A small piece of tape folded in half on the bottom of the pallet paper holds it securely in the inverted lid. Not only is this more efficient when using the lid, but it also makes cleaning easier; I just remove the paper when I'm done. The lid stays clean. The tub itself is very easy and quick to clean. I would highly recommend this brush/sink/holder cleaning tray for both hobbyists and professionals alike.
