Review on KitchenAid KEK1032SS Precision Gooseneck Digital Electric Kettle, Stainless Steel - Efficient and Convenient Boiling System for Perfect Pour-over Coffee and Tea by Sarah Johnson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The quality and design are excellent, but this is reflected in the price!

First Impression: A quality product that works as advertised. Great look for a modern kitchen. Pros: Looks good, feels good, the difference in pouring speed actually varies a lot, digital temperature, urine control as well as an analog thermometer, mostly steel construction (see below). Cons: price (but you pay for brand, design, materials and quality control), empty kettle is a little heavier than expected, thermometer stem on lid can be annoying, spout isn't very thin visually (flow rate is controlled by blocking the hole). where the spout connects to the body). Note on materials that come into contact with boiling water: Seems to be a common question, so I've included a photo. From what I can see it's all steel construction except for some black rubber (looks like silicone) on the flow control plate and some translucent rubber (also similar to silicone but stiffer than black rubber) on the temperature control thermometer sensor. If it's a high-quality silicone, the relatively low boiling point of water shouldn't be a problem. You can remove the flow regulator entirely if you don't need the black rubber (but then it's not a gooseneck anymore), but the rubber ring around the sensor is probably there to prevent leakage. This is a probable and inevitable construction for automatic temperature control kettles.
