I used to have another brand and in my case it didn't work properly, every time my kids walked or jumped I had to go down and adjust the projector. Line up the image on the screen (either with or without the extender, the image was always out of range). It is easy to install and can be attached to ceiling joists with two screws. This goes up to 9 inches below your ceiling. Not sure if you can buy an extension cord (in my case 9 inch was perfect for me). The projector is installed (in the basement) under my living room, although most of the time there is some traffic, jarring or movement that you may experience watching a movie is minimal, not to say there is no movement. This is a highly recommended product for anyone who needs to install a projector without an extension cord.
