They smoke and cascade wax
There were huge rings of soot around the indoor Christmas lights hanging over 5ft above the window sill where these candles burned at Christmas. And they turned from a pillar candle to a shapeless puddle of wax. If they hadn't been placed in the hurricane candlestick, there would have been bowls of melted wax everywhere.
