These problems were solved with the original Roku remote: The original remote for the Philips Roku was flimsy, had volume and mute buttons on the side where you kept bumping into them just by picking them up took. Also have a sleep button if a pause button is needed due to the layout of the thing. The on/off wasn't a clearly labeled red button. It had volume and mute on the front panel, a red power button that's easy to find or avoid, an LED that blinks when any button is pressed, rearranged sleep and pause buttons, and even an extra screw on the battery cover. to prevent it from flying apart if someone drops it. It also feels stronger and more durable - and even comes with a cord if you want to attach one. Do what you want from any other remote control you have. It also allows you to reprogram any button you accidentally hold down to do NOTHING - a real bonus if you're a sucker and/or don't subscribe to any of the commercial buttons below. It feels like someone looked at all the shortcomings of the original remote and decided to fix them. Highly recommended!
