I just bought one of these 8 cup mixing pitchers and am keeping it to replace the one I have had for almost 30 years. In fact, these things are so durable that the old one retires to water the plants. This jug will last a long time. I've put all sorts of things in my jar and used metal blender blades in it and the only thing that ever went wrong was it dropped weighing about 8 pounds a few years ago. frozen soup in it and two pieces of bottom broke off. Also, after all this time, the colored gauges have faded quite a bit. So now you know that while Tupperware can sometimes be a bit more expensive than what you can buy in your local stores, it's worth it!
