The pack took nothing to clean and start using. I was worried upon reading reviews about the plastic taste. I just simply used baking soda and hot water and let it soak for 5 or 6 hours then washed out with dishsoap and hot water. Took out for a 4 mile trail run and tasted crisp and clean.Also people say they hardly noticed the weight but i myself could feel it. With it filled up weighs about 3 or 4 pounds. Thats a bit if you are not use to running with that kind of weight. But i still like it and its convenience and cant wait to use it at the Spartan Beast race in Ohio in May.
