That's why I'm giving this bit three stars, but only because of two things. (#1) The price was fair. (#2) The bit was adequate but definitely not exceptional cut quality. On my first attempt at plunge cutting white oak, the tips of the bits snapped off immediately, effectively eliminating the use of the bit for plunge cutting. I used a drill bit mounted on a trampoline to cut through a 72 inch solid white oak table top that was glued to the table. Since I couldn't countersink the drill, I had to pre-drill the drill entry hole and consistently went 3/16" deep. Passes for cutting through oak 6/4. When I finished cutting through the tabletop I reduced the cutting radius by a few thousand "Inch and made a full cleaning pass around the tabletop. The incision wasn't exceptional but acceptable. I would buy these bits again (I bought two in case one should break) but now I know they might not be like this are good choices for plunge milling.
