These stirrups are great! I thought I wouldn't like them as I'm used to Phillis pivot irons. However, they have sufficient flexibility and a broad support base. After a few weeks of riding in these stirrups I ordered a pair for my jumping saddle! The wider support was excellent, and it was harder to lose the stirrup as the 'thread' catches (but doesn't hold) your boot (you'll still fall cleanly when you get out of the saddle.) Only downside is The threads make it difficult to adjust your foot in the stirrup on the fly. pillow. There is a front and a rear part, which makes putting it on the saddle a bit difficult for the first time. (Takes about a minute longer. No big deal.) They're about half the weight of metal stirrups, so they're less likely to spank the horse when training out of stirrups or doing lunges.
