My 5 year old son goes to school in a uniform and the rule is if he has a belt loop you have to wear a belt. He has been wearing one of the three straps for about a month and a half and they are already showing signs of wear. The belt is elastic, the buckle stretches. You can see the elastic popping out from under the elastic fabric (I don't know what it's technically called) from behind the elastic when it breaks. Belt for show, don't expect it to hold up your pants. It also looks a bit cheesy, but it does the job for now. I'm not sure if this will last the whole school year.
