Review on Dorman 42025 Spark Plug Thread Repair Kit: Restoring Ford/Lincoln Models Efficiently by Randy Perry

When I first used the kit I was scared because I heard the insert was broken or it wasn't closing properly or it wasn't over tightened. So I was too careful to put it through my head. I also used Red Locktite which should seal the threads and be permanent. But out of caution, I didn't screw the insert all the way in. And two days later it started ticking and smoke gases seeped into the candle shaft. So I removed the insert, cleaned it and re-cut it with more torque JB weld to make sure it lays on the ground. Gave him over 24 hours to set up JB's weld. Installed the spark plug that came with it. I put everything back together and thank god everything worked like a master! Still runs great with almost 20,000 miles on the repair and appears to be as permanent a repair as ever. Bought an additional one as insurance against the explosion of others! Great product, just make sure you install the insert and use JB welding to seal the threads 👍.
