I used to think Dorman would sell a decent product but after trying to install this cheap repair I wasted 8 hours in a headache! I installed the base in the head and plugged in the spark plug. As soon as I took the candle out by hand, the top part of the insert broke off! I had to drill out the broken part, cut a hole for the spark plug and install a healing coil. Not a temporary solution either, a waste of time and money. I installed it according to the instructions, waited for the thread sealant to set, started the engine and immediately my plug popped out again and the noise was back. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your teeth or money on this product. Either buy one of the best and take a risk if it doesn't work, buy a new head for your motor, or junk the car if the cost is so low that the motor isn't worth buying. It doesn't work at all. I guess

When I first used the kit I was scared because I heard the insert was broken or it wasn't closing properly or it wasn't over tightened. So I was too careful to put it through my head. I also used Red Locktite which should seal the threads and be permanent. But out of caution, I didn't screw the insert all the way in.
