The light output is very good, it can be seen at a decent distance, although I do not have precise measurements. I've found in my non-scientific research that cars tend to give me a little more room when using this (your results may vary depending on many factors). The battery charge is sufficient for approx. 3 hours of driving. When I do longer trips like an organized charity trip or fondo I don't use it because in a group of hundreds of cyclists I basically have no need for light (my opinion). Cars are perceived by 25 to 50 cyclists in a group. The only complaint I have is that the USB charging port is a little flimsy, as is the lid. I can charge and cover it, but it's very delicate. All in all a good buy that I think will protect me!
