First, most NiteRider products lack battery life. I have this taillight, scaled down model, and headlight, and they inevitably seem to go out long before I think they should. When riding my bike down the street I want to be the brightest and most distracting thing the rider can see. I used a Bontrager Flare R taillight, which is a good light, but a friend told me the NiteRider puts out brighter lights than what I was using, so I had to buy one and try it.
