Excellent light, unreliable attachment

I love these headlights, I have to because I have to have replaced about half a dozen in the last ten years. Luckily when I have a rebound off the mount they come out with a lighter version which I would probably buy anyway. I started drilling a tiny hole in the tab at the bottom of the light and hooking it up to my bike and that almost solved the problem, but I still lost one, the 100 lumen version. I now have a small screw holding it to the mount and the mount is connected to the bike. It's…

Now you see Me! on accessories

The light output is very good, it can be seen at a decent distance, although I do not have precise measurements. I've found in my non-scientific research that cars tend to give me a little more room when using this (your results may vary depending on many factors). The battery charge is sufficient for approx. 3 hours of driving. When I do longer trips like an organized charity trip or fondo I don't use it because in a group of hundreds of cyclists I basically have no need for light (my…

Wide Angle Daylight

I've spent many months trying, buying and discarding all of the taillights. I personally would prefer one with batteries that I can take out and charge myself so that in an emergency I can either buy them or just carry extra ones and not have to wait for a charge. So I made compromises here because there isn't much choice in that regard. Realizing how effective this light was, I bought two to solve an emergency. What I like about this light is that it's bright enough to be seen well during the…

For this price I would expect better

First, most NiteRider products lack battery life. I have this taillight, scaled down model, and headlight, and they inevitably seem to go out long before I think they should. I did a century with this thing the other day at low power (continuously) for 9 hours and it died somewhere around the 7 hour mark. I have a much cheaper disc taillight that I use consistently and it lasts a lot longer. Now I carry both with me - this one has better visibility but if it fails - which it will - I have the…

Surprisingly bright light

When riding my bike down the street I want to be the brightest and most distracting thing the rider can see. I used a Bontrager Flare R taillight, which is a good light, but a friend told me the NiteRider puts out brighter lights than what I was using, so I had to buy one and try it. Pros - This light is BRIGHT. I mean REALLY BRIGHT. If you turn your flash to its brightest and look directly into the light, you'll see spots for a good 30 seconds. I like it in that light. I also like the…
