Very handy all-in-one multimeter

Whenever something electrical requires attention, the first tool I want to grab is a multimeter. Before buying this device I always had to choose the right one as I have never had one that measured pretty much every value I could need when diagnosing a circuit or device. Even other similar clamp meters rarely measure DC currents. , as they are usually reserved for electricians who, unlike auto mechanics, rarely need to measure anything that uses direct current. Well, this gauge does it all; AC/DC Amps, AC/DC Voltage, Capacitance, Temperature (Β°C/Β°F), Frequency, Duty Cycle, and Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) for added security. The NCV function is overly sensitive, but it does warn of "active" components such as sockets and switches. It has a nice large backlit display, comes with an LED pine light, and runs on AAA batteries for maximum convenience. Convenience. The display backlight color changes from white to red/orange when readings indicate voltage and current that may be hazardous and an audible alarm sounds to warn the user. to diagnose intermittent signals and claims to include a low-pass filter (LPF) in the circuit to improve accuracy in circuits that may contain spurious signals, such as It comes with a pair of quality test leads with great detachable tip protectors, a thermocouple temperature probe (for a quick HVAC test), a zip case and a basic instruction manual which could be more detailed but sufficient. Accuracy is excellent compared to my expensive disposable gauges and never varies from its calibration by more than a tiny fraction of a unit. that I have the right tool for the job. Perfect!

Pros
  • Multifunction true RMS clamp meter: precise AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, frequency, duty cycle, diode test, capacitance and resistance measurements. True Mean Square (TRMS) technology for improved accuracy.
Cons
  • No automatic
