Purchased to improve FM reception for vintage receivers (Marantz 2325) and tuners (Sansui TU-717). I used a simple dipole antenna and (sometimes) a Sony Loop (internal) antenna. Both are similar to those sold here. No comparison, not even close. As soon as I connected this Winegard antenna to my stereo, it completely blocked its signal strength meters. Stations I had trouble with are now strong and clear. And I haven't even installed the antenna outside yet, it's sitting on top of one of my speakers right now. Ridiculously great value. I wouldn't mess with Winegard with an old style (dipole) or useless (powered) new style antenna.
