Review on ๐Ÿ’ฆ Enhance Your Home's Safety: Introducing Grohe 22601LN0 Sense Smart Water Sensor by Muhammad Balding

Simple setup but works.

I used a Delta Cloud Leak Detection System similar to this device for about a year, but then Delta decided to no longer support the system. I really enjoyed the peace of mind of having a monitor next to my water heater that would notify me if my house flooded while I was away. So I really wanted to try this system. Setup was easy, but I had some concerns about the information required to create my user account. The first step to getting started is to download and install the app. Then I had to create a user account in the app. I have accepted their privacy policy, which obliges me to share any data this device collects with the provider. Also, after setting up my account, I had to enter my home address into the app. The installation instructions said this was done so I could notify my contacts when an alert occurs. I didn't feel like giving them my address, I just don't think it's necessary information. But I did it anyway. Once all the account information was entered, connecting the device to my WiFi on my iPhone X was easy and took about 3 minutes. After starting, I decided to test the device and placed the sensor on a damp sponge in the room where my water heater is located. The light ring on the unit turned red and the buzzer went off (the alarm isn't that loud and my wife couldn't hear it while she was upstairs). So audible alarms don't seem that valuable to me. The system successfully sent a push notification to my phone that the sensor detected a leak (see screenshot I posted in this review). That's a lot of value I see in it, so I was happy to see it worked. He was also supposed to send me an email alert to recognize the flood, but I never received the email. I don't know why, I have email notifications enabled in the app and it uses my email address for my account (I received an email to verify my email address during account setup) , so this is a fatal programming error. But even that is less important to me than push notifications because I don't check my email that often during the day. So if my house flooded I would probably skip it! I would also like to add that my wife downloaded the app for her phone and logged into my account and she also received a push notification on her phone. Conclusion: The installation was very easy and the system works. Water was detected and an alert sent to my phone but the email notification didn't work and the beep is pretty useless. I didn't like the amount of information required to register my account and their privacy policy, but I was willing to proceed because I really need a leak detector next to my water heater. I might consider buying another one for the kitchen sink.
