I use Redline products all the time. I've always been amazed at how well their gear oils work. My last purchase was no different. I replaced my gearbox with a lower mileage bearing I had and was only able to get Am**il brand gearbox manual lube. Had driven for 2 weeks and was very unhappy with gear changes, had a bad grinding noise when shifting into 2nd gear in cold weather. I had enough and I threw it all away and put in a fresh Redline MTL. Now the car shifts perfectly, no pops or clicks, not cold, not hot, never. It was the same result on the 5 cars I used it in, perfect! I will never experiment with any other brand again. EDIT 05/17 Another success, another vw 020 changed from what I assume was the brand I affectionately called "Am(way)soil" as it was thick, brown, milky and ass-like smelled * *. The gearbox was very naughty on 1-2 colds and I figured it would need a 2nd speed synchro sooner rather than later. After 2 days it no longer creaks and is quieter. Later.
