I love this lens: Camera & Photo

I use this lens with an Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II camera. I love it. I don't know if this is camera related, but I haven't noticed any distortion issues with this lens. This lens takes sharp pictures and is good in low light. Being 12mm, it can easily handle long exposures like 1/20 without camera shake. They say this lens doesn't photograph people well. I have found that this is not true at all. People will be distorted if they are very close (less than a few feet), or there may be distortion in the corners of the photo if less than f8 is used. When I need to use f3 or 4 the lens is so wide that it's easy to get things out of the corners. To avoid distortion from people, I try to keep the distance between me and the people in the photo at least 8 feet. And I've never had a problem. Shots appear farther away, but cropping brings people closer and with more detail. I also found it very easy to capture moving images with this manual lens. Moving images naturally require faster shutter speeds to avoid blurring. There are no focusing problems with this lens. You can use focus peaking or a magnifying glass on your camera to make sure it's in focus. Focusing is too easy to justify spending a lot more money on autofocus. I can set the focus to infinity and shoot (far and near) all day without even looking at the camera. I'm amazed at how wide this lens is, even for close-ups. With this lens I can take good pictures of people when I want to capture the background clearly and without blurry bokeh. This lens makes it easy to capture group shots in tight spaces. This lens is ideal for capturing people in their surroundings. I always use this lens when I need to take quick shots on the go. For me, this lens works best for walks or street photographyβ€”any activity that involves walking. It's great for zoos, amusement parks, parties, festivals, museums, vacations, tours, close-up photography, outdoor events, etc. It goes without saying that it's good for architecture, landscape, and astrophotography. The lens mount requires an initial rotation to properly attach to the camera. It's okay, but you need a better adapter.
