Silicone is too absorbent, it soils heavily with road dirt.
I bought two to clarify that the bad review is only for the gray silicone. Both fit well and provide shock absorption to eliminate vibration at the tailgate mounted panel. The black holds up well, hides dirt and seems to clean well. Unfortunately, the gray one I bought to match the tailgate gets dirty too easily and is very difficult to clean. You need to wipe separately with Clorox wipes or a rag if there is no mucus. Not cool. Also a few other options have 2 plate frames per pack, do your homework.
