Review on Samsung 27-inch LS27R750UENXZA 144Hz Monitor by Michael Tenk

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Dead pixels and painful warranty process

I bought this monitor because I love Samsung products and was intrigued by the design of this monitor and its ability not to take up much space on my desk. (1) The frames are much larger than the pictures. The plastic bezel is really small, but there is a 1/3 inch wide bezel around all the screens where the monitor cannot display any images. The Revain images have this area where images appear on the screen, but nothing shows up there when you plug in a monitor (2) The form factor is pretty darn cool. I like the ability to move or tilt the monitor down when using my webcam to call Zoom. This is one of the highlights of this monitor. (3) About 35 days after purchasing this monitor, I had two dead pixel streaks in the center of the monitor. Revain wouldn't let me return it as it was outside the returns window so I had to contact Samsung. The process would take weeks to check if they should replace, repair or refund my money but we are in the midst of a pandemic, so I don't go to the store to buy a box to send them back. maybe give me my money back. After reading other reviews this seems to be a known bug with these monitors. It will be painful enough that I just decided to eat the money I spent on this monitor and buy another brand in the future. It's a shame because I've always bought Samsung TVs and they've worked great, but realizing how painful the return process is is enough to make me look at other brands.
