This collet has a threaded end no larger than 1". So if you don't have a short drawbar or switch to a fully threaded as an adjustable alternative you will damage the drawbar when drawbars are cheap and easy to replace but when you try to tighten a chuck the threads go down before the cutter really does tightened and locked in place is 2" thread on top. That brings me to my second problem. Threads don't come deburred at the factory. Don't start tapping. After I pierced the tap, the burr broke off and everything was nice and smooth. If you don't have a 7/16-20 tap handy don't expect these collets to fit you, I'm actually right on that, these puppies are factory hardened and rock solid meaning you can't pull the strings any further, to fix the problem with the short threads, but they should be durable enough for years of use, and the keyway wasn't burr-free, which is a shit ted stone cleaning before the collet would even fit into the chuck. I could have given this collet a much higher rating but the threads were cut shorter than usual and not properly deburred which would cause a lot of trouble for a lot of people. I have a modified set of 7/16-20 drawbar taps and dies and a thin whetstone so I could troubleshoot production issues, but that's something a buyer shouldn't do. Otherwise a good collet - good runout, good lasered size on the face, solid enough and even the face has a slightly flat surface so it gives back the last millimeter of play.
