Because they might weld to that like exhaust bolts.

Easily fits my 2001 Subaru Forester. We're the lucky few who don't have a very expensive CAT car. I suggest you also get two O2 sensors because you absolutely need them (on average they cost $50 each). Why? Because like the exhaust studs, they could have been welded to the pipe, and why risk it when you're still pulling out the code after putting everything back together? I took all my parts to Bucky, got a $150 price tag for the install, and sat there for about an hour while they installed it. They can pay $200 for installation if they can't remove the old bolts as they may have to cut and weld a new flange. Always order parts from Amazon and avoid markups in the workshop and parts store. This cat cost twice as much at Autozone. I've never owned a Subaru before. This car (no dents, interior just needed cleaning, passed no emissions and had very little power) was actually given to me by a woman who didn't want to deal with it because her mechanic told her it would cost $2400. fix it. So she bought a new car instead. Two weeks later, after watching a video on Utube, the following needed to be fixed (I did everything myself except installing CAT); 1. Replaced the knock sensor. (I pulled the code with my trusty Harbor Freight scanner.) Super easy and only $10 on amazon.2. Spark plugs and cables changed. (It still buzzes a little after the new checkpoints) Now the mouse runs more quietly on the cotton.3. Air filter changed. He was crusty.4. I sprayed a full jar of Safe Sensor Intake on the carb. It also helped a lot.5. Finally, I changed the oil, checked and topped up the transmission oil, and changed the differential oil. It seemed to me that the 255,000 mile car was not properly maintained and the lovely lady who gave it to me just drove it and did nothing. do not carry out any maintenance work on it. She ended up being overwhelmed with all the very easy to fix issues (except for the gearbox, which would also be easy without the rusty bolts), which she declined. Deal of the century friends. It doesn't happen often. After all, this Subaru was back to normal for about $700 and might show up at a cheaper time. My son is 17 years old and I was wondering where I could get the money to buy him a safe car. woo hoo! I want my first car to be a brand new Subaru Forester. Love, Peace and Hair Lube!
