For 2003 Forester X 5 Speed MT

Fits without mods. The item is made in the USA. This is my second Walker 54573. The first lasted 5 years 2 months 36000 km. Factory seal lasted 12 years 4 months 142,000 miles. Components are strong, welds are average. Be sure to replace the gaskets. You may or may not need to replace the spring bolts and manifold bolts. Use high temperature anti-seize compound on the sensor screws and threads during installation, if you don't you will regret it. Update: If you get code P0420, simply replace…

I very rarely write reviews but as this was such an important purchase I thought it deserved it. My 2003 Subaru Forester had a Check Engine Light (CEL) on for 2 years and threw Code P042. Not wanting to spend $1100 on an OEM catalytic converter, I was still reluctant to spend a few hundred dollars on one and pay a mechanic to install it unless I knew they would fix the problem. The mechanic told me that aftermarket crampons for Subaru don't typically disable the CEL. Eventually I broke down and

Because they might weld to that like exhaust bolts.

Easily fits my 2001 Subaru Forester. We're the lucky few who don't have a very expensive CAT car. I suggest you also get two O2 sensors because you absolutely need them (on average they cost $50 each). Why? Because like the exhaust studs, they could have been welded to the pipe, and why risk it when you're still pulling out the code after putting everything back together? I took all my parts to Bucky, got a $150 price tag for the install, and sat there for about an hour while they installed it.
