Is OK.: Training Leashes

If you've never tried a ten foot leash, chances are you enjoy a long, leisurely walk where you don't mind if the dog leans away from you to do a little research and snooping. I can keep my feet dry on the sidewalk while my dog runs on the lawn. However, you should be more careful when using a long leash. For example, I collect it when a car approaches or when I see an animal in front of me. The longer the leash, the less control you have if the dog suddenly snaps or lunges. I'm used to using a cotton leash that feels more comfortable in the hand. This nylon leash is soft and requires a bit more strength to follow in your hand when that makes sense. I bought this because of the larger carabiner which is stronger. If you use a martingale collar, be aware that the clasp will hang longer and may hit your dog's legs. This particular leash is not suitable for a small dog. Overall this is a great leader but I prefer my previous leader and wish it was stronger. Shooting stars for a weird grip that twists and turns at will. Edited to add that the more I use it, the less I like it. Actually I hate the pen. I keep the lead when we're in the car. Today, after a walk, the leash is completely tied around the handle. Luckily it doesn't pop out unless asked so I was able to hold onto it and untangle it, but it's a major pain. After 2.5 years I have to say that I love this leash. I've gotten over my feelings for the handle and just keep it on my wrist and use the rest of the leash with my hands. I bought a short leash for car rides. It's not worn or damaged in any way and I use it twice a day, all weather. I buy another one as a fallback, which is what I do when I like a product. 😍
