Works better for me than a heavy retractable dog leash

I am well into 70 and have an active Standard Poodle. I have a retractable dog leash but it feels heavy in my hand. I've always held it with both hands. This leash is much lighter and I find it easy to use. If my dog comes towards me on a walk, I simply pick up the additional leash with the other hand so that it doesn't drag on the ground. I've only had it for a few days but so far it's exactly what I was looking for as it makes outdoor walks so much more enjoyable.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Compatibility

How did I get along without it?

An absolute must for teaching your little pup (or teen) to leave whatever catches their eye and come when called. I didn't notice any stretching, but I didn't insist on it either. Seems a little longer than 15 feet but that's ok. Orange is the perfect color for "free" walks on dog and human trails. The color is very visible from a distance. Light enough to attach an extra strap in your hand for when you need to snuggle your dog closer. Even Sargent agreed - feeling the length, he explored a bit

Pros
  • Nicely packaged
Cons
  • No power

Comfortable 3/4 " wide leash, not too thick or thin.

Just one leash for us to get our GSD into the backyard. We had two leashes attached to each other but she tore them apart yes we bought 15ft so she had room to walk but she didnt have too much advantage over us when she saw the critters nice strong clasp the grip is perfect with soft padded material inside the orange color looks great looks more like neon coral to me but as the dog is black a light color will come in handy at night I really appreciate the leash isn't too thick to be bulky or…

Own the line and learn to fly the dogfish. game changer!

We tried this long leash as a solution for our pet who likes to pull while walking. We walk a lot on hiking trails and in the forest. This leash has COMPLETELY CHANGED our partnership, giving him a little more room to sniff so he hardly pulls anymore. It's easy to control the excess and circulate it when it's close and then gradually feed it when it's gone. Jerky jerks or jerky stops are hardly necessary as there is enough time to adjust the length of the leader on the fly. Much like fly…

Sturdy, comfortable grip, long length

I've been using this leash on a very heavy 60 lb boxer pit mix for several weeks. I like the length for hiking or walking in the park, but wouldn't use it for street walking. Ten feet offers just the right amount of relaxed freedom without having to mess with a longer leash or retractable leash. The handle makes this product. It's very practical and has convinced me to forego a retractable device when hiking (which I've never been particularly happy about). The leash is well made and I love it…

heavy clasp/beautiful leash

I just received this leash - I thought: what a solid one: when I held the package and all the weight was in the clasp! Haven't used it yet, but I'm a little worried the clasp will keep hitting my very short haired dog in the chest (we use a collar on walks while he exercises and the clasp is always under his chin). . Just take a look. That being said the leash is medium weight - I have 15ft for training/walking my 55lb dog and unless your dog chews through it I think from experience it will…

  • Lots of positive emotions

  • Thoughtlessness

Is OK.: Training Leashes

If you've never tried a ten foot leash, chances are you enjoy a long, leisurely walk where you don't mind if the dog leans away from you to do a little research and snooping. I can keep my feet dry on the sidewalk while my dog runs on the lawn. However, you should be more careful when using a long leash. For example, I collect it when a car approaches or when I see an animal in front of me. The longer the leash, the less control you have if the dog suddenly snaps or lunges. I'm used to using a…
