Review on Leashboss 15 Foot Dog Leash by Kelly Thomas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

heavy clasp/beautiful leash

I just received this leash - I thought: what a solid one: when I held the package and all the weight was in the clasp! Haven't used it yet, but I'm a little worried the clasp will keep hitting my very short haired dog in the chest (we use a collar on walks while he exercises and the clasp is always under his chin). . Just take a look. That being said the leash is medium weight - I have 15ft for training/walking my 55lb dog and unless your dog chews through it I think from experience it will hold up well. The handle is comfortable and I have already tied another handle to it in the middle of the leash. This will help me deal with length when he's around or I'll have to close the gap when he's "free". I look forward to trying this out on our next trip. So yesterday we used it for walking, I know it's only 5ft longer than my 10ft but the difference in handling seems bigger. You definitely need to stay alert, feed the line and pick up the slack, but I knew that and the extra grip I tied helped. The leash was comfortable in my hand (although much lighter than my 6ft hemp) and the soft grip is a nice feature. The clasp wasn't as problematic as I feared, but while it didn't hit it in the chest, it bounced a couple of times on the side I was on when I was limp. Overall I think it's a great product - just a bit long for us at this stage of learning when used in its spare time (which isn't entirely free until better trained). For now I'll be using it for memory training and sticking to 6 or 10 inches when walking. I would definitely recommend it for feedback training and also for anyone who just wants their dog to be able to explore more distances while walking on a leash.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Thoughtlessness
