Nice device that works with Home Assistant

I bought this sensor for $12 which is quite a bargain compared to other brands. It uses AAA batteries so I expect good battery life but will update if that changes. I use this sensor with Home Assistant and it connected to my ZHA instance with no problems. Reports are available immediately. It actually does exactly what I was hoping for. The alarm horn is easy to hear even when it's hidden under my vanity. My only downside for this unit is that the port that the water has to plug into for it to work is quite large. The connection is the screws that hold the device together at the bottom. This means that a decent amount of water must flow out before this device will work. It's still far less than knowing nothing at all, and they're transparent about their options on the list, so I won't give it a star for that. I also want it to have pins at the top like a Samsung unit so water dripping on it can also trigger. But hey, this unit is exactly as described and was cheap cheap cheap. I can't get excited about it. The fact that it works with Home Assistant is also a big plus for me. Will buy more.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
