Review on 🐠 Lee's Eco-Friendly Mini Gravel Vacuum for Efficient Aquarium Cleaning by Eric Temple

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for small tanks and for "detailing " cleaning large ones

Love this little siphon! I bought this to clean my 5.5 gallon aquarium and 2.5 gallon shrimp tank and it works great. Vacuums at the right speed to clean without removing too much water. I've also found it's best used for cleaning nooks and crannies around driftwood, rocks, and plants in my 30 and 60 gallon aquariums. The small diameter and short length of the tube allows me to easily dig in small places that a traditional gravel vacuum cannot reach. I was surprised at how much goo came out of my "clean" tanks! The gentle vacuuming is also good for me because I can take my time cleaning without worrying about the bucket overflowing or small plants moving in my sand. When the details are ready, I just switch to my regular siphon to quickly remove the water for a water change. The hose on this one is also slightly smaller in diameter than on conventional vacuum cleaners. It's much more convenient to bypass turnoffs and the like. By the way, there is no strainer inside the hose, so small, light objects like empty snail shells can get sucked into the hose, get stuck and you have to blow on the hose to dislodge them. All in all I think this is a great little instrument, and at a great price!
