No clear instructions on how to install different heads or grips or what pads to use. I have black, yellow and red. It seems that the red and yellow were for cutting and the black was the softest, so I used that for buffing. There were also microfiber pads, but I haven't tried those yet. Took about an hour but I was able to at least significantly reduce the scratches on the side of my car. I may have to use sandpaper to cut through the clear layer to eventually remove it, but for now cutting with the red and yellow and buffing with the black seems to have worked. most of time.
