I just bought this unit to replace an old Emerson Research unit that I have had for many years. My idea is to get a full fledged CD player/clock radio that really wakes us up in the morning and also is a source of music when doing chores in the bedroom without breaking the bank. Think Bose Wave Radio without spending money on Bose Wave Radio. Get something less expensive that comes close to Bose quality. This is where KEiiD comes into play. When it arrived I found it larger than I expected. This is a fairly solid block that will take up space on your bedside table or dresser. Switched on, disc inserted, the sound is excellent. Not Bose, Harmon Kardon, or Polk Audio is great, but "I only spent $150 on this" is great. The sound is rich and bass-heavy, and with five EQ presets, you can find one that suits your ears best. Many controls are on the device itself AND on the remote control, but some controls are only available on the remote control. If you're the type of person who loses remote controls, this will be a problem for you. If you always have the remote at hand, it's a piece of cake. I actually find it easier to use the remote to program the alarms and other things it controls. This allows you to sit back and look at the display. The only gripe is that the remote is a bit small, making it difficult to read some of the labels on the small buttons. I checked all functions. FM reception is quite satisfactory contrary to some of the reviews given here, with all our local stations sounding loud and clear. The use of an antenna is definitely recommended. Bluetooth pairing is seamless, as you would expect from any other Bluetooth device - works like a charm. Both alarms work well, the snooze time is 10 minutes and I've gotten up to 4 snoozes (maybe more) when most clock radios only snooze 3 times. You can wake up in any mode you want - CD, FM, etc. The only thing missing here is that the volume of the music doesn't increase unless you turn it off, it stays at the same level. Clocks and alarm clocks can also be easily set using the remote control. The display is very clear and you can see at a glance whether the alarm is set. Overall I think I will like this device. It really delivers and the complaints are very minimal. I am definitely satisfied with my purchase. death b.
