Review on Phanteks Enthoo Chassis Without PH ES614PC_BK by Jason Vigil

Hard case, works well

The box was damaged, the foam pads were broken but the case appeared to be intact. I just finished building it. What I don't like is the power button at the top. I connected the reset button on the front panel to the power button pins on the motherboard. I don't like the flap that covers the USB ports and audio jacks. It's easy to remove (without destroying it), so I removed it. I would have preferred a metal top cap, but a plastic top cap with a metal mesh looks good. Both the front and top plastic covers are easy to remove, which is a good thing since you'll need to take them off to clean their filters. Behind the tray there is space for a large number of cables. It easily holds a 280mm radiator on top, although the metal frame juts out slightly into the fan/radiator area. The holes are actually slots, so you can move them back and forth by more than an inch. You can install a heatsink with hoses on the front or back of the case - I have them facing backwards to avoid interfering with the SATA connectors and power for the OD slots. I also have the fans above the radiator working as exhaust fans and another 140mm fan fits in the front. The description says there are two places to install an SSD, but in my case there were four. It has brackets on the drive cage as well as behind the motherboard tray. Three of these four brackets can hold two adapters, for a total of seven 2.5-inch drives. I removed the screws for the top rear bracket due to reports of the motherboard shorting out with those screws. As the description says, it comes with 140mm. Exhaust fan and 200mm front air intake. It will fit two 140's up front and I'll convert to that when the 200's start to wear out. Add three 140s on top, one in the back, and another filtered 140 on the bottom (that's with the drive cage installed), and you have a total of six 140mm fans if you want. PS can be installed with fan facing up or down. it's not that hot inside yet.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Everything is fine
