Water pump quality: belts, hoses and pulleys

Ordered and received a timing belt kit with water pump. I thought I did a study on the quality of the parts in the "kit". Paid a Lexus mechanic to install it as a side job he did at the dealership. Water pump leaking after 20,000 miles and 16 months of use. Of course there is a 4 month guarantee. This may be an isolated situation, but it still involves the purchase of another pump and installation/replacement costs. OEM will go this time.
