Review on 🔗 Dorman 14104 Auto Transmission Linkage by Kris Martin

Myself and another very experienced mechanic tried to install this hub on a 2007 Escalade which they said would fit. This thing is almost impossible to install from the shifter side. Oddly enough, it fits perfectly on the side of the gearbox. There are no instructions anywhere on how to install this thing. I've spent about 1.5 hours trying various methods to force this bushing into the hole at the end of the shifter cable, but it's almost impossible. It's like it's too big to even fit in. The socket is very rubbery and really VERY resistant to insertion like it's too big to fit. In the end we tried the C-Clamp and different sockets. It won't quite fit yet. Even after you put it on (after putting it on and squeezing it for an hour) I don't see how anyone could expect this thing to hold the shifter cable for long. Strangely, it fits very snugly on the small shaft of the gearbox, it just fits terribly on the hole in the shifter cable. PLEASE CHOOSE ANOTHER BRAND! Not sure why they provide two grommets and what the odd clamp is for. I think it might be useful for some other models.
