Review on SAMSUNG (MZ-V8V1T0B/AM) 980 SSD 1TB - Enhanced M.2 NVMe Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology by Dan Tsourvakas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The Samsung 980 is the best 3rd gen M.2 SSD I've had.

Samsung 980 is the perfect pinnacle of storage technology, I think it suits my needs as an open world gamer. I'm using it on an Asus ROG Maximus X Code Gen 3. And benchmarks with more than half the capacity used show 3395MB/2728MB sequential and 326171/27381 random IOPS, which is great for world streaming games like Star Citizen. Game loading is measured in seconds, not minutes, and that makes the player happy. The 980 also offers long life with good thermal temps, a stable 40C for me, and a 600TBW write life, backed by a 5-year cap. Warranty. Now I'm just waiting for the 2TB version to sweeten the specs.
