This antenna looks good and has a strong magnet - it stays up to 95 mph. The whip antenna attaches with two screws for a secure connection. The whip antenna is 33 inches long with a 2 inch coil in the middle, so it resembles a colinear design. (I don't know how long the coil is.) The pack says it covers 30-50 148-174 430-450 800-950. Then the instructions in it say coverage: VHF low: 30-50 VHF high: 130-174 UHF: 450-512 Not very helpful as they don't match. However, the build quality is good. You can modify the antenna (cut bottom half to 1/4 or 1/2 the wavelength you want to make it properly collinear) or install your own antenna. I did this for my specific application and it works great. Cutting: Cut and snap off the antenna. Then file the sharp edges. Hope this helps you all. Much luck. — Chris.
