Good antenna. The magnet could use an update.

The magnet is weak. But the antenna works very well. I put a 200lb fishing magnet in the bottom of my trunk to keep it in place nicely and not move. In general I am satisfied.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Very strong magnet in the antennas

This is a very strong and sturdy Tanna, works great on my Whistler WS1010 The magnet is very strong I had a 110 car and the magnet held very well the only thing I Not so was the connector at the end of the cable that connects separately to the scanner cell after about 5 months of use. Aside from the fact that the antenna is still fine, I've replaced the connector and I'm back to work.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Repair

Good product, holds up well on the Autobahn

Great product. I wasn't sure how well this thing would help with signal reception and mount strength. After 2 months of use this thing is working way better than I expected. receives signals very well. and the mount is good, i have driven a couple of times on the freeway with the antenna mount on the trunk. This thing stalls even at 95 mph or in the rain. Very good product

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great little antenna.

This is an excellent value antenna. I mainly use it on my RV at a fixed location. Once I installed a good ground shield, this antenna worked very well. I hear government news a good 50 miles away and I'm not the best at altitude. The antenna is well constructed, the magnet is sufficient. In my area, most agencies operate on either VHF or the 460MHz band, and they work equally well on either end of the spectrum. I'm debating whether to buy another one for the car or just as a replacement. Great…

This antenna looks good and the magnet is strong. Here's more info:

This antenna looks good and has a strong magnet - it stays up to 95 mph. The whip antenna attaches with two screws for a secure connection. The whip antenna is 33 inches long with a 2 inch coil in the middle, so it resembles a colinear design. (I don't know how long the coil is.) The pack says it covers 30-50 148-174 430-450 800-950. Then the instructions in it say coverage: VHF low: 30-50 VHF high: 130-174 UHF: 450-512 Not very helpful as they don't match. However, the build quality is good…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

I don't often write reviews, but I felt an obligation to this scanner antenna. This is great gear and I bought a second one last week (as a spare). My first lasted about EIGHT years outside in a Jeep Wrangler and a Ram 1500 pickup. Environments ranged from the cold winters of Boston to the scorching heat of Florida. It survived everything, including highway speeds. As the magnet lost some of its juice I noticed that they really love to wiggle and wiggle and detach. To fix this I bought a $5…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Clarity
