For years I had to plug and unplug the DVR's power adapter from the cigarette lighter socket every time I got in or out of my 2009 Chevy Suburban. This is because the cigarette lighter gets power even when the engine is off, and the DVR doesn't turn off when I turn off the engine. This isn't optimal, especially if you forgot to turn it off and drained your car battery. The universal REARMASTER OBD power cable solves this problem. Whoever invented this should win the Nobel Prize in automotive engineering. After a simple installation (just plug in and run the cable) the dash cam will now start and shut down with the motor. I hear angels singing every time I see the dash cam turn on and off. The only thing I don't care about is that the REARMASTER OBD universal power cable keeps the dashcam (or other device) powered for 5 minutes after the car is turned off. This drains the battery unnecessarily and as an OCD I prefer to see the dashcam turned off before getting out of the car. Otherwise it's an A+ in every way.
