Review on 🔌 Monoprice Affinity Series Speaker Banana Plug with 24k Gold – 10 Pairs by Djkutt Kent

I bought these to use with some 10Amp power supplies. I've read that some had problems with the large cord. I was able to use 10 AWG stranded copper, tighten the screws and put the covers on. The set screw can be filed slightly to fit the larger wire, but this will be quite difficult. I had to remove the shrink tubing in the kit. This is not helpful in any way. I was even able to stretch 1/4" 3:1 shrink wrap over it to use as a strain relief. I tried 3/8" but it was too big to fit between the cover and the conductor. Continuity check on the red cap (body) and several points passed through some power. If you want better insulation I suggest painting or shrinking. In general, I'm suspicious of the hidden set screw design. I would prefer a solder joint. I think these plugs are still easy to solder on. They work well with a snug and reproducible fit on the few 5-pin 4mm heads I have.
