This is a really big plug for some speakers.

Good product but the fork is BIG. I bought these for my Definitive Technology AW6500 floorstanding speakers and found that the connector was too big for the speaker jack. Not just a little big. I think Shaq and his 5ft 2in wife are tall. This is no joke and I couldn't use them. I ended up using bare wire and now I have banana plugs that I can't use but don't like returning.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Disappear

Very large hole in the speaker wires

They are well made and look good. But the hole in the back where you insert the wire is HUGE! Its diameter is 0.197 inches or 0.12 square meters. Customs service. For reference: this is almost enough for a 4 gauge wire. Wires in one of them, NINE 14 gauge wires and FIFTEEN 16 gauge wires! (so my screwdriver damaged the internal threads on the inside) I was never able to tighten them.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Expensive

The engineer in me loved her. The quality is doubtful.

I liked their design. If you mix up which black and which red, no need to remake the connector, just unscrew the body and swap. The inclusion of a black plastic insulator inside was a bonus. Finally, using two set screws to clamp the wire is great. It said - 3 sets out of 10 I received - at least one of the holes for the set screw was overdrilled - the set screw just fell out - or got stuck - couldn't tighten. Luckily I only needed 7 sets for my speakers but I thought about the idea of adding…

Works great even with 10AWG cord

I bought these to use with some 10Amp power supplies. I've read that some had problems with the large cord. I was able to use 10 AWG stranded copper, tighten the screws and put the covers on. The set screw can be filed slightly to fit the larger wire, but this will be quite difficult. I had to remove the shrink tubing in the kit. This is not helpful in any way. I was even able to stretch 1/4" 3:1 shrink wrap over it to use as a strain relief. I tried 3/8" but it was too big to fit between the…

Just buy them! fits speaker cable

Will order these banana plugs again. They are generic. If your cable is too flimsy, simply fold it in half (double length cable twists on itself). If they're too fat, you can have problems, and even then, you can be fine. just more work to make it fit. For a thick, solid cable, simply flatten the cable with smooth toothless pliers or a vise, otherwise you may strip the screws while trying to make them flush to the cap. I use a 4mm cable, the cable insulation is too thick for that. Includes…

Would I buy again

Not knowing anything about hooking up speakers or banana plugs I just bought these based on the reviews. I've seen others comment on how beautiful they look on their speakers and I don't see them making much of a difference as all I see is a piece of red or black plastic coming out of the back. They look solid and have a lot of weight. As soon as you unpacked the packaging, you could feel the high quality. These connectors have two small pan head screws that you need to loosen, then insert the…

Not complicated, but not easy to set up either.

I've been installing speakers for a long time, but this is the first time I've come across banana plugs. These plugs look great, are very well made, sound great and match my speakers and AV system perfectly. I've had a few issues, but I'm listing more to help others who are purchasing this rather than as a criticism of the forks themselves. The issues listed here do not detract from my five star rating; those are great forks. However, here are my notes: The system they use to secure your wire…

Looks good and fits well, but is it worth the money?

If you're looking to spend banana plugs on your stereo these are good! They're really gold plated and made out of a really thin alloy. You can see the picture I took of the plugs on my beautiful Polk Audio Monitor 60 speaker. There are some issues with the Affinity series banana jacks during installation, mainly due to the aluminum alloy body. I would definitely recommend getting a 12AWG or 14AWG cable just for these Affinity series plugs. The reason for this is that 10 AWG will most likely not
