These shoes feel like a cross between a lightweight/flexible water shoe and a sturdy play sandal. and got nowhere. The shoes are very light and the sole is flexible without much support - it reminds me of a water shoe, except the insole is made of a fabric that doesn't seem made for water. As a game shoe, they are "good but not great". The look is cute (my 5 year old loved them), the upper sole looks well made and the adjustable strap helps with the fit. But shoe soles are where these shoes lose their stars. The sole is quite thin and quite thin. So it would be good for light play at school, carry at church etc., but definitely not suitable for work when you are outdoors, trail, dirt road etc. Considering the price ($40 at the time of review). I would say you get a much better deal elsewhere. We ended up buying $24 Merrell athletic sandals (and a pair of Keen at the same price for our son) to replace them and they were much more comfortable for our daughter. To be honest they seem like the sandals they sell at Target & Walmart which are a lot cheaper ($15) so go there for cheap shoes and if you are ready $40 for a great shoe -/Sandalgame I would recommend Merrell, Teva or Keens.
