Overall the pillow is great. The initial comfort score is pretty good, but be sure to follow the instructions when taking it out of the box as the pillow takes time to stretch out. As for smell, there might be a slight odor at first, but I found that with "normal" ventilation it went away in less than 24 hours. I can tell you that since we have purchased several of these pillows they have held up and not gone super flat or warped for months. We have one of these pillows that is over a year old and still in great condition from overnight use. That's really saying something as I've (unfortunately) been known to break pillows and warp them for whatever reason. Pillows at a great price.
