Review on SainSmart Channels Ethernet Controller Connected by Eric Alcantara

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The device works, but nothing for beginners

This device pairs correctly with a 16-channel SainSmart relay. Both devices can be powered via a 12V relay, the relays are completely independent of each other. You can have 5V, 12V, 24V or different sources for each channel. Device management is not as easy as you might think. The web interface did not work well. I've experienced constant crashes where the device freezes and needs to be reset. There are many ways to get around this. But be prepared to create your own connector and interface. Others have mentioned cURL or downloading third-party programs. If you have Windows 10, use Powershell. Invoke-Webrequest will help you get started. This device is not intended for those with no command line or programming experience. But you don't have to be a code ninja for it to work. I would give 5 stars if the UI and documentation were better (they aren't). But it works as advertised and you should be aware that there is something to be repeated when working with a product like this. The only other issue is that I still haven't found a way to change the state of multiple relays at once. Everything is on/off there, but so far I haven't found how to turn on 1,5,10,15 at the same time. This can be done quickly, in about a second, but not simultaneously. The device is used to control outdoor lighting and irrigation 24V.
