We have a Miele coffee system built in. The thing will practically take care of itself, but the system won't subtly remind you every few hundred cups that the one thing it CANNOT do on its own is descale - it needs your help. And for that you need these descaling tablets. EASY. Simply follow Miela's on-screen instructions, which will guide you through the entire process. However, I use a little trick to speed up the first step. When prompted to fill the water tank to the descaling line, drop the tablets and then wait for them to dissolve. Do not do that. Fill the tank with HOT water to about 1/2 the required volume. Then drop the tablets and mix with a flat knife. This reduces the typical removal time by about 50%. Fill the tank to the line with colder water and continue. The end result is a descaling system. Definitely worth it. Before I manually descaled the pipes, I appreciate this decision.
