Review on πŸ“½οΈ Epson EX5280 3-Chip 3LCD XGA Projector: High Brightness, HDMI, Built-in Speaker, 16,000:1 Contrast by Erin Romero

Great business projector, good home cinema projector

As some other reviewers have pointed out, this EX5280 is primarily intended for business use, such as video or slide shows in an office conference room. Since most business presentations take place in a well-lit environment, this projector delivers amazing brightness. It can reach up to 3800 lumens. Even if you use this at home with the blinds open during the day, you can still see the image clearly. But for home use, this projector has 2 limitations. First, the native resolution is only XGA (1024 x 768). This is even below normal HD (1920 x 1080). However, you can connect any input source up to 4K and they will be downscaled to their native resolution. So the image you see on screen is still pretty good thanks to this projector's brightness and color accuracy. The second limitation is that the projector does not support Bluetooth and has no audio output. The built-in speaker is pretty good, but it doesn't give you "home theater" sound. Since you cannot connect other speakers directly to the projector, you must use a device that can. For example, if you connect your Apple TV to the HDMI port, you can also connect a Bluetooth speaker directly to your Apple TV. Depending on which Bluetooth speaker you use, this can give you more of a home theater experience. Keep in mind that HD projectors from most major brands are more expensive and probably not as bright. And a 4K projector can cost thousands of dollars. For the price and versatility of this projector I think it is very good value for money. If you combine it with a good screen for home use, you will still be very satisfied watching movies on it.
