As an intermediate welder I find this wire easy to work with and makes pretty good welds. Favorite for thicker components. Anything smaller than 1/8" won't work well with this wire, and regardless of settings, welds tend to be very porous. Also, this wire definitely melts at a slightly higher temperature than many other wires, making it better for heating thicker materials, but the downside is that thinner pieces are easier to burn through. For sheet metal work, I prefer to use the Blue Demon Flux Core. It definitely melts easier but doesn't make the joints as rigid. It also gives you some confidence that the material properties are listed on the packaging and you can do some stress calculations on the finished joints. at every hardware store near me and that's the wire sold at ACE hardware stores if you ever need it same day - never mind it's cheaper here if you can wait a few days. As a mid-level welder on a budget, I don't use shielding gas and the spatter is actually pretty good. The attached photo shows a connection between a piece of 3/16" thick I-beam and 3/8" square tubing.
