The upper brewing container is significantly larger than the lower collection container. If you are brewing a batch close to the capacity of the brew jug, the glass jug will overflow. I was hoping I could cook a batch and then leave them unattended in the catch bin. Luckily I checked it before it spilled. I like to do batches that start at 910 grams (31 ounces of water). A brew pot can handle this volume. However, the result is more coffee than fits in the jug. The instructions include a recipe that says to use 24 ounces of water, resulting in 16 ounces of coffee. It fits perfectly in a glass drip pitcher, but then the top brew pitcher is about twice the size it needs to be. At least it works. I would give a full five stars if the bottom glass jug was bigger.
