Others have said it more eloquently than I have, but I want to reiterate that this lens is absolutely amazing. The super-telephoto lens gives you long-distance shots that are usually overlooked, and is also great for nature/flower photography. A slow aperture isn't a big deal if you're shooting outdoors in good light. The only downside is that focusing is slow and autofocus can miss a lot, but I can't really blame this lens for being $100!
