I bought this kit and installed it on my Ford 8N tractor with a front manifold converted to 12 volts. I fitted a DB Electrical 12 volt coil. I didn't use the factory resistor because I didn't think one would be needed with the 12 volt coil. Initially, the system worked fine, but soon stopped working. The ignition was on and I heard "POW" and the coil inside was shorted. I ordered a new coil, installed a built-in resistor, but the nozzle also burned out. ALWAYS INSTALL THE BUILT-IN RESISTOR even if you have a 12 volt coil.
