INSTALL A BUILT-IN RESISTOR even for a 12 volt coil

I bought this kit and installed it on my Ford 8N tractor with a front manifold converted to 12 volts. I fitted a DB Electrical 12 volt coil. I didn't use the factory resistor because I didn't think one would be needed with the 12 volt coil. Initially, the system worked fine, but soon stopped working. The ignition was on and I heard "POW" and the coil inside was shorted. I ordered a new coil, installed a built-in resistor, but the nozzle also burned out. ALWAYS INSTALL THE BUILT-IN RESISTOR even

This saves you a lot of time and nerves with the front distributor.

My old tractor is a 1940 Ford Model 9N. My father and grandfather went together and bought it around 1963. I learned to ride on this thing and also learned valuable mechanical skills for life. and tractor driver skills. The dots kept closing on these things no matter what you tried. Also, they never seemed to last as long as you think. We're not talking about high performance dual tips with Excell super coils. As a tool and mold maker I have tried many fixes but nothing seems to have solved the

Great product and customer service!

I watched a few YouTube videos on how I converted my 1948 Ford 8N tractor to electronic ignition and after seeing this particular setup I was excited to try it. When it arrived I rewatched the YouTube video and followed it almost step by step. Everything was going great until I tried mounting the ignition actuator on the central distributor shaft. There is no way it will snap into place like in the video. After a few tries it was half advanced, but not enough for the rotor knob to engage on the
